The Pell Grant is need-based aid. These funds are authorized by the U. S. Department
of Education and awarded by the College.
The FSEOG is need-based aid. These funds are authorized by the U. S. Department of
Education and awarded by the College
The MASSGrant is a need-based grant for full-time students. These funds are awarded
by the Massachusetts Department of Education Office of Student Financial Assistance.
This need-based waiver is awarded to eligible Massachusetts residents enrolled in
state-supported classes based on registration at the time the funds are awarded. Eligible
classes have a section number beginning with "A." If your class section designation
changes and is no longer an "A" section class, this waiver cannot be applied and usually
cannot be replaced with other funds. The MA Tuition Waiver will be canceled if you
have another state waiver (Adams Scholarship, Mass Rehab, Foster, Veteran, etc).
Send a copy of your award letter to the Financial Aid Office – be sure to keep your
original letter. To receive these funds, you need to complete the and maintain full-time enrollment and a 3.0 GPA in all college coursework. Twelve
credits or more is considered a full-time semester. At Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓƵ, the scholarship is
valued at $24 per credit or a minimum of $288 per semester. This program is administered
by the . There is a two-year limit to this scholarship at a community college.
This is a need-based cash grant program authorized by the Massachusetts Department
of Education and awarded by the College.

Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓƵ Presidential Scholarship
This is a merit scholarship for high-achieving students entering from high school.
Students can apply through their high school guidance office or contact Transfer Services. This scholarship is for one year only and recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA to
receive the second-semester payment. Application deadline is in May.
Loans
Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓƵ participates in Federal Direct Loans. These are loan funds and must be repaid.
This includes Stafford Subsidized, Stafford Unsubsidized, and Parent loans (PLUS).
Students/parents interested in loan opportunities should begin the application process
with the school, not the lender.
Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) for parents of undergraduate dependent students.
Student Employment
Part-time job opportunities are available through the Federal Work-Study (FWS) and
Student Employment (SEP) Programs. FWS is authorized by the U. S. Department of Education
and awarded by the College. SEP is funded and awarded by the College. Students participating
in the program normally work up to 10 hours per week and the work schedule is designed
to meet the needs of the student and supervisor. Positions are available at all campus
locations and off-campus non-profit community service agencies. This is an employment
program and funds are earned as wages; the wages are not applied to tuition and fee

Employment is an important part of education for two reasons: worthwhile skills can be learned that can carry forward to career goals and the money earned can help with meeting the cost of attending college.
In other words: your students' financial aid can not only help them pay for school, but it can be utilized to help gain professional experience as well. Work study programs at Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓƵ help students build their resumes, explore careers, put academic theory into action, and interact with faculty and staff on a professional level.

The Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓƵ Foundation and Alumni Association fund scholarships for students. The

recipients during the summer.
These waivers are available for students who are veterans, active members of armed
forces, Native Americans, senior citizens, or clients of the Massachusetts Rehabilitation
Commission or Commission for the Blind.
